New high-tech line expands Mantova production in the Mexico unit
Starting in January of this year, the company Mantova, in its branch in Mexico, will begin producing a new high-tech line of plastic tubing for the automotive industry. The Brazilian company, which celebrated three decades since its founding in Brazil, has invested US$ 1 million to continue and advance its strategic plan.
The goal of expanding production capacity is aimed at expanding business in North America, says Mantova CEO Afonso Vicenzi. “We are confident of achieving what was planned, mainly due to the consistency in the execution of our strategy, and the potential results for the first half of the year. We have positioned ourselves as a new and strong option for the automotive sector, projecting a future of new possibilities for evolution and growth.”
In this scenario, the Mexico plant, located in the city of Santiago de Querétaro, produces technical plastic tubes for vehicle manufacturers (OEM) and first, second and third level suppliers of light and heavy vehicles. According to the director of the branch in Mexico, Mauro Baronio, the presence on Mexican soil creates opportunities for innovation and association with current clients, opening the doors to new businesses. “As we continue to expand globally, we are honored to be part of this advanced and prosperous region,” Baronio emphasized.
Baronio also highlights that Mantova Mexico's first year of operations was one of great challenges, with a lot of learning and the successful cooperation of local staff was what helped the Brazilian company evolve. “In this way, our growth was sustainable, and we involved the team to face what is coming. We are very euphoric with the prospects for 2024.”
The company manufactures plastic tubes through extrusion, with the capacity to process 10 tons of plastic material per month in Mexico. Last year, the first line with polyurethane (TPU) tubes was launched aimed at the automation segment. From now on, polyamide (nylon) tubes will be manufactured for the automotive sector. “For this reason, our expectation is for great growth, since seeing Mantova strengthen as a multinational company is a great source of pride for our entire team. Our challenge is to make it a reference in the North American market, respecting and valuing local culture, to build alliances with high meaning,” highlighted Afonso Vicenzi.
