Mantova supports UFRGS chemistry institute
The chemistry institute of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Porto Alegre, is investigating the presence of microplastics in Lake Guaíba, the main source of supply in Porto Alegre and the metropolitan region. In parallel, the institute has research that studies the interaction of microplastics with environmental contaminants, such as hormones.
Believing that innovations in polymer science and technology should be continually encouraged and that the academic environment contributes to the scientific investigation of materials, solving problems in an innovative way in the industry, Mantova supported the research by Dr. Andreia Neves Fernandes from UFRGS with the sending samples of plastic material.
The academic environment plays a fundamental role in the productivity and competitiveness of the plastic industry. Therefore, for Mantova, supporting studies and research drives the generation of novelties for the plastics industry and is synonymous with investing in continuous improvement.
